On The Road Again - MO, MI, WV, VA Trip
Well we have hit the road again for our next trip. This time we are visiting Jenny in Mobile for a few days, then on to Branson, MO for some fun time together, then to Michigan to visit Dianne's Brother Bob, then West VA to visit Dianne's Nephew Michael and his family, then to the Blue Ridge Mountians to view the change of season colors, then finally to VA to visit Galon II and his family.
We left Pensacola on Friday 9/18/09 and drove to Mobile to stay at Johnny's RV Park on Hwy 90 in Theodore, AL. We had Jenny and Matt over for supper and played Hand N Foot until around 10:30 PM. Jenny and Matt beat us by just a few hundered points.
We got up early Saturday morning and drove over to Jenny's then we all drove up to Tuscaloosa for the Alabama vs. North Texas game. We had a blast watching Alabama win big 53 to 7. After the game we went out to eat at I-HOP then drove home.
On Sunday morning we drove over to Jenny and Matt's and went to church with them at North Mobile Baptist Church. The worship service was nice, and very similar to what we have at Marcus Pointe Baptist in Pensacola. The songs were modernday courses with the words placed up on a screen for everyone to be able to see. The Choir members did not wear robes just their regular casual clothing. The pastor had on a coat with no tie and casual shirt and pants. He spoke from a stool with his Bible on a small podium similar to a music stand. Tbe service started with a Batisim. It ended with an invitation just as we do at our home church. The people there were very friendly, and we felt right at home. We then went to Sunday School with Jenny and Matt to a young couples class. We were definitely the oldest ones there, but everyone made us feel very welcome. The teacher did a good job with the lesson.
After church we met at the Motor Home and grilled some steaks and played Hand N Foot again. This time Dianne and I was able to pull out a win so the results are tied as of right now. I beleive we have each one two or three times.
After Jenny and Matt left we just relaxed around the RV and prepared for our departure on Monday. We left Mobile around 9:00 AM on Monday morning and headed for Jackson, MS where we stayed at Askew's Landing Campground. It was a pretty nice campground.
We left out of Askew's Landing around 9:30 AM Tuesday Morning and drove to Little Rock, AR where we are staying at the Riverside RV Park right in the heart of down town Little Rock. We will be leaving here Wednesday Morning and driving to Branson, MO where we will be staying for a week at the Table Rock State Park.
I will post some blogs concerning our adventures in Branson later this week.
