Smyrna, TN I-24 Campground
Well we finally were able to leave Tiffin Motor Homes in Red Bay, AL and continue our journey to Smyrna, TN on Tuesday 5/19/09. We left at about 11:15 and stopped off at Simmons Tire Co in Sheffield, AL to have our coach's alignment checked. They completed the task around 3:00 PM and we continued our journey. We arrived at the I-24 Campground in Smyrna, TN around 6:30 PM
. We had hoped to get here in time to attend our grandson Joseph's birthday party at Pump It Up in Franklin, TN, but we were to late. We called him on the phone to wish him a happy birthday.
Wedmesday 5/20/09 - While we were at the Tiffin Motor Home service facility we had to rise early so that we could take our coach in for service at 7:00 AM each day. So today we took advantage of not having anything pressing this morning and slept in till around 8:00 AM. Then we went exploring to find a grocery store, and a place to get hair cuts. We found a Wal-Mart and stocked up on the groceries we needed and filled the car with Gas. We also found a place to get our hair cut, so we came back to the RV park to eat lunch and put up the groceries, then we went back to get our hair cut. When we came back to the park they had a better place for us to move in to that was much more level, larger, and had more shade so we moved. We really had a hard time getting our Satellite dish to receive a signal at our new location. It took over an hour to find the signal. I think the problem was all the trees which were blocking the signal.
Thursday I had to go to a local lab to get my monthly blood test and have the results faxed to my doctor in Pensacola. While in Murfreesboro we went to the Chamber of Commerce to get a map of the area and possibly find things to do while here. On our way to the Chamber we went past a local restaurant serving lunch and decided to return there after our visit to the Chamber of Commerce for lunch. It was a small local place that only serves from 11:oo AM to 6:00 PM. The food was Southern Family served Cafeteria style and was excellent. If you are ever in the Murfreesboro area try the Kleer-Vu Lunchroom at 226 S. Highland Avenue.
Right now we plan to be at this park until Monday 6/1/09. I will post new information as the days pass if anything of interest occurs. Otherwise I will post when we move to our new campground in Crossville, TN on 6/1/09.
