Allegro Campground - Red Bay, AL

We moved from Sleepy Holler Campground in Cordova, AL to the Allegro Campground at Red Bay, AL. We left around 9:15 AM and arrived here at around 11:45. Once we checked in we had to prepare a list of all the things we needed to be looked at.

As shown below there are a lot of RV spots at this campground that are very close together. In fact there are 93. Our camera could not show them all as there are three rows going north and south, and two small ones of 7 slots each going east and west. Our coach is the 6th one shown, and the only one with a tire cover on it.

The repair building shown below has 49 work bays, a parts warehouse, woodworking shop, paint & body shop, customer lounge, and service office. I could only get about 13 of the ones on one
side. The service bays are on both sides of the building with an open area running down the middle.

Tonight we attended services at First Baptist Church Red Bay. They had a nice supper that we were able to enjoy with them. Tonights fare was hotdogs, with chilli, french fries, coleslaw, and a desert. It was pretty good. Then the pastor presented a Bible Study on Exodus Ch. 3. We enjoyed both the meal and the Bible Study. Everyone was very friendly. They invited us to a Breakfast on Saturday, but we hope to be in Tennessee then if possible.

Our appointment for repairs is on Friday 5/15/09, but we were told to arrive here early so we came on in today. Yesterday the campground was full, and they had no slots available, but today some folks went home so we were able to get a spot. Right now I thing there are only about 5 t0 10 spots available. We were told when we checked in that they could possibly start on our coach tomorrow, but not to count on it. It depends on what is ahead of us, and how long it all takes. We have to stay pretty close by as we have to move the coach in and out of the work bay. We have to coordinate with the service manager tomorrow to see what free time we may have if any. If we have some time available we hope to go to the Red Bay Museum tomorrow. While they are working on our coach on Friday we plan to tour the Tiffin Factory. This takes about two to three hours. We found out tonight when we went to church that the gentlemen that conducts the tours also attends First Baptist.

Once our coach is finished we will move on to Tanbark Campground in Dixon, TN. If they can not finish our coach in one day we plan to leave our coach at the campground and drive to David's for Saturday and Sunday. We will have to return here on Sunday afternoon so we can be ready to move the coach on Monday so they can complete the repairs. Here's hoping that they can get everyting done in one day. We talked to our next door neighbor when we arrived, and found they have been here two weeks waiting on insurance approval and parts.

This is it for this post. We will try to post again once we move to Tanbark Campground in Dixon, TN.
